PRIMARY EDUCATION
The first National Elementary School in Gračanica opened in 1886. This is today's Central Elementary School named after a famous Bosnian writer Hasan Kikić. After 1948, another school was opened in Gračanica: a middle grammar school which was later turned into another elementary school – “Mitar Trifunovic Učo”.
Beside these two primary schools and a music school in Gračanica, another 9 central and 10 subsidiary schools and a child care center with several subsidiaries in the town exist within the municipality area.

PARALLEL MUSIC EDUCATION SCHOOLS
The parallel school for elementary music education in Gračanica opened in September 1976, at the National University of Gračanica. Since 1979 it has been active within the Working Organization of Associated Primary School and preschools. After the war, since the 1996/97 school year, it continues to operate within the „Hasan Kikić“ elementary school.
Since the beginning of 2004/05, the music school is located in the newly built and modernly equipped facility with three departments – piano, accordion and classical guitar.
Classes are being attended by approximately 120 students.
SECONDARY EDUCATION
First grammar school in Gračanica opened in 1959. After several reforms in the field of secondary education, it now works under the name of a famous intellectual and university professor from Gračanica – Dr. Mustafa Kamarić. The school program is divided into three educational directions: general, mathematical and philological.
Another, Mixed Secondary School in Gračanica, offers six technical professions: mechanical, technical, economic, tourism&hospitality, medical and dental technical.
